TOMRA RollPac reverse vending backroom wins prestigious Red Dot design award

TOMRA Collection’s innovative new reverse vending backroom solution, TOMRA RollPac, has won the 2024 Red Dot Design Award product design. The international awards for product and industrial design and design concepts are a recognized international seal of excellence for design innovation and leadership. TOMRA RollPac won in the category of product design.

The award comes hot on the heels of TOMRA RollPac’s win at the 2024 iF DESIGN AWARD, where it received recognition as an efficient solution and great user experience that seeks to understand and solve the needs of retail customers.

TOMRA RollPac is the company’s most compact backroom system for storing drink containers for recycling, and the first backroom solution to take storage vertical – adding height to cabinets for retailers seeking space-efficient solutions. TOMRA RollPac is also TOMRA’s first backroom solution designed for roller cage load carriers, the logistics format preferred by supermarkets in several European countries.

The Red Dot Design award is one of the most internationally recognized awards within product design, dating back to 1954. Among numerous submissions from companies and design studios from all over the world, the Red Dot Design Award truly is described as "one of the most sought-after marks of quality for good design".

“With more regions offering deposit return systems, it is vital to offer and continually improve our product portfolio to meet the needs of new locations. TOMRA RollPac strives in its design to meet the evolving needs of our retail customers and make their workday easier,” Anders Ertsås, Industrial Designer at TOMRA Collection.

Winning both the iF and Red Dot design awards underscores our commitment to innovation, pushing boundaries, and crafting solutions that anticipate future needs. This success is a testament to our development team’s ability to maintain our integrity towards our design intention.
