#WeAreTOMRA: Meet Stine, Field Service Technician
Our service technicians play a crucial role in our mission to Lead the Resource Revolution by ensuring our reverse vending machines operate smoothly and efficiently. Stine is one of our newest stars in the TOMRA Collection Service team
Who are you?
I’m Stine, 23 years old and working as a Service Technician at TOMRA Collection. I am based in my beautiful hometown of Mo i Rana in northern Norway. I’ve never wanted a typical desk job; instead, I thrive in a physical role that offers a variety of tasks and the freedom to manage my own workdays
What does a typical workday look like for you?
A typical workday for me starts with dropping my daughter off at kindergarten before hopping into my pink service vehicle! As a Service Technician, my main task is to perform preventive maintenance on reverse vending machines in stores, aiming to detect and fix issues before they arise. Every day brings different tasks to resolve. Some days I take ferries out to the islands, while other days I work in the city center. A big part of the job is to be service-minded and solution-oriented, ensuring we deliver a great customer experience for our customers.
What do you like to do when you are not working?
When I’m not working, I cherish spending quality time with my family. I love cooking delicious meals and experimenting with new recipes. I also have a passion for hiking, exploring the beautiful landscapes around us, and soaking in the tranquility of nature. And whenever I get the chance, I love the thrill of riding my snowmobile, feeling the rush of the cold air and the excitement of adventure
What’s the most exciting part of the job?
The most exciting part of the job is that every day is different, and I’m constantly learning new things. Even though I don’t have colleagues in Mo i Rana, I feel part of the amazing team in Tromsø and Trondheim. They are the best colleagues in the world – so kind and helpful. I feel very well taken care of, and it gives me great peace of mind knowing I can call or message them anytime.
How would you describe the culture at TOMRA?
I would describe TOMRA’s culture as incredibly inclusive. No matter who you are, you are warmly welcomed. It’s a very supportive environment.
What made you want to work for TOMRA?
It was my partner who showed me the job ad and said, “This would be a perfect fit for you.” When I read the ad and learned more about TOMRA, I had no doubt that this was the company and position I wanted to be a part of. As a Service Technician at TOMRA Collection, I get to do what I love—working hands-on with technology—while also contributing to a cleaner environment. This combination makes my work feel incredibly meaningful.
